Yoga: to yoke, to join: as in body, mind, and spirit
Wellspring: a source of continual supply, or abundance

Yoga Wellspring, LLC Mission Statement | Yoga Wellspring is a social justice advocacy organization grounded in the eight limb practice of yoga. In addition to sharing how to authentically practice yoga, we also provide grant writing, nonprofit financial consulting, and technical support services to yoga teachers, nonprofits, and other social justice organizations.

Yoga Wellspring Vision Statement | Our vision is that everyone uses their yoga practice to achieve personal liberation and advocate for social justice around the world.

Yoga Wellspring Anti-racism and Decolonization Statement | Throughout the United States there is a history of racial exclusion, violence, land theft, and cultural appropriation that has left a legacy of injustice that endures today. We know our mission and vision cannot be realized until we dismantle white supremacy and are willing to share power and resources. We recognize that our own past and current actions and inactions have reinforced systemic racism in yoga and beyond.

We are committed to an ongoing learning process around privilege, power, inequality, systems of oppression and cultural appropriation, and in practicing yoga to be an agent of change. We acknowledge that this work is urgent, while at the same time, it also requires patience and dedication for the long term.

We will create inclusivity and social justice in yoga by practicing and teaching all eight limbs of yoga: yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi. We will center teachers from Desi teachers and teachers from South Asia for our own ongoing teacher training, guest teachers, and lecturers. We will create inclusivity in yoga asana practice by offering props and supported practice for all age ranges, body types, and levels of physical wellbeing. We will offer sliding scale payment options to make yoga financially accessible to all.

As we work to dismantle systems of oppression and appropriation in yoga, in ourselves, and in society, we know that we will make mistakes. Our goal is to give ourselves and those around us the space to work through those mistakes, to accept the insight from those who help us recognize our missteps, while also accepting that it is our sole responsibility to acknowledge and rectify those mistakes.
